'The 835' Author To Conduct Seminar

'The 835’ author Frank Davis will conduct a seminar at Bucknell University on how ancestry researchers and enthusiasts can use electronic tools, the internet, and DNA testing to research and discover their ancestry.   Topics to be covered include search engines, the National Archives as a resource, and how to handle obstacles. Frank will also share some of the discoveries that he made about his own family using the methodology discussed in his new manuscript ‘The 835’.  The seminars will be held on June 2nd and 3rd, 2012 at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.

The 835 To Be Highlight At ASALH Washington DC Event

‘The 835’ author Frank Davis will join 24 other invited authors at a book signing event and luncheon as part of the ASALH Black History Month Celebration being held at The Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel on February 25, 2012.  At this event, Frank will personally sign books and discuss ancestry awareness topics with those in attendance.

The 835 Highlighted At The ASALH Convention

Richmond, Virginia      October 8, 2011    -   The 835 author Frank Davis just completed the national launch of The 835 at the national Association For the Study of African-American Life & History Convention (ASALH) in Richmond Virginia.   During this convention, Frank met with a large number of book buyers and conducted a seminar on ancestry awareness.

New Current Generations Research Beginning

7/1/11   When "The 835" novel was written, many of the current day descendants of the targeted ancestors were excluded.  It is estimated that as many as 500 current day living descendants where omitted from the published nmes register.  As such, some younger members of the extended family including Michael Davis have begun a project to document these omitted family members.  Targeted for completion in 2013, this addition will add to the already large collection of genetic family members.

BASO Form Added

8/7/11   As a service to readers of "The 835", the BASO Form widely mentioned in the book has now been posted at the downloadable forms tab at eh bottom of the synopsis page.

Guinness Attempt

6/1/2011  "The 835' marketing team officially submitted the 835 member family tree associated with this project for consideration as the largest American Slave Descendant Family Tree.   We should hear final work back in a few weeks.

Book Coming Out Soon

"The 835" is fully in the hands of the publisher and it is due to hit the streets in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned for more details.
